  11. I have an NEC CDR-25 external CD-ROM drive (single-speed I think) 
  12. connected to the SCSI port on my A3000, and I'm using WB 2.1.  I have my 
  13. 100 MB Quantum hard drive set up as SCSI device unit #1, while the 
  14. CD-ROM is set at device unit #6.  Anyway, there are a few quirks with the 
  15. CD-ROM, such as:
  16.  
  17.     - having to have a non-audio CD in the drive at boot-up (if a regular
  18.       audio CD is inserted at boot-up, then the hard drive light and 
  19.       CD-ROM light comes on and stays on, nothing further happens)
  20.     - sometimes when using the CD-ROM for playing music CD's (as 
  21.       using JukeBox), the hard drive light (i.e. SCSI controller) 
  22.       becomes locked and I have to turn the CD-ROM off.  If I'm
  23.       multitasking when this happens (as in accessing the hard drive),
  24.       I get a requester stating a read/write error on the hard drive 
  25.       (once I've turned the CD-ROM off).  After the CD-ROM is turned off,
  26.       the hard drive light goes out, I click on "Retry" and the so-called
  27.       read/write error is gone, and things are normal again.

  29. Someone once suggested getting a new SuperBuster chip (rev. 11?) to 
  30. replace the one in my A3000.  The info on the chip currently installed says:

  37. What exactly will the new chip do for my A3000 and CD-ROm drive?
